Devier Posey and JK Schafer taking their talents to the big stage!

The Explosion family wants to congratulate Devier Posey of Ohio State and JK Schafer of The University of Cincinnati on their NFL selection to play at the next level. Devier Posey will be catching passes next year for the Houston Texans while JK may see a number of different roles as he makes NFL debut with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

JK and Devier, both LaSalle grads were standouts in their time here at Explosion Fitness. These two young men have great work ethics, determination and a love for the game that is necessary to excel in the game of football. Both Devier and JK, spent numerous hours in the gym working on strength, speed, and agility. With that being said, it's no surprise that they
are moving onto the next level.

Julia Wood Goes to Central Michigan

We would like to congratulate Julia Wood on continuing her soccer career at Central Michigan University. While at Fairfield High School, Julia excelled on the field which was a direct result of her hard work and dedication to her training. Julia has been an Explosion client for the past four years working as hard as any other athlete Explosion has ever had. Good luck Julia!

Fenwick's Kristin Thompson earns a volleyball scholarship!

MIDDLETOWN-Kristin Thompson is proof that hard work, talent and maybe a bit of online ingenuity can go a long way.

Thompson, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter for the Fenwick High School volleyball team, wanted to be able to take her abilities to the collegiate level. As a three-sport athlete in volleyball, track & field and girls basketball, she wasn't able to dedicate all of her time to just one sport.

So Thompson and her mom, Tammi, came up with a plan.

"My mom got me involved in a berecuited.com website, where interested coaches could look at a profile page I put up, and they could contact me through it," explained Kristin. "And we got over 100 hits from college coaches."

Twenty college programs contacted Thompson directly. Several of the programs were beyong her travel budget, but Thompson, who is interested in pre-med, did pay visits to nearby Wittenberg University in Springfield and Robert Morris University near Pittsburg.

Last week Thompson, a Monroe resident, signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Division I Robert Morris on a full-ride scholarship.

"(Robert Morris) coach (Dale) Starr coaches a lot like (Fenwick coach) Yoon Ha does here," Thompson said. "He expects a lot out of his players, and I like that."

She credits her mom and dad (John) for instilling a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.

"To be honest, theres a few hundred kids like her out there," Fenwick coach Yoon Ha said. 'For her to be selected, most of that comes down to attitude and that hard work ethic, and she has that."

Well the time has finally come that Explosion Fitness will be combining efforts with Beckett Ridge and Elite Chiropractic to open our new state of the art training center. We are anticipating starting to see new clients by December 1st of 2011. Thanks to all that made it possible to make this dream come true!

Andrew Amend Doing Well At Centre College

Matt and the Team,

Andrew is doing well at Centre College. Thanks to EFS, Andrew's
summer conditioning and strength training program has proven to be an
important part of his ability to make the team providing continuous tactical
support. His YoYo Test score of 20 was the highest of all the
freshman.

He scored his first college goal against Hanover College on Friday, September
9, 2011.
